Saving view ports in library in PlanCad.

Messaggio Inviato: 29.05.2007 15:09

When I save a view port it does not save a picture, that I have put on the drawing. Is that normal?

Hi Thorvald.

Yes, all pictures are treated as "view ports" on their own. This is why they cannot be saved with another view port. But what is your aim? Would it be an alternative to work with "drawing templates" rather than "view port libraries"?

Regards,

Jens

My aim is this: For example I have two different roof elements that are totally equal (or maybe mirrored). Then I want to be able to copy all contents of the drawing incl. a 3D picture of the element to explain the production people how the element should look like. If I use "save as", then I cannot change the info for the drawing - so the info would be Roof element R4 for both drawings, even though the first is R4 and the second is R10. That's why I was thinking about to save the contents of the drawing into the library, because then I can just make a new drawing with the correct info and then paste the contents from the library into the new drawing.

Hi Thorvald,

if I have understood you right, a possibility would be to "save as" and then use "1-3 drawing info" to change the info for the drawing...

You have to install Version 6.01 to be able to use the function.
