Timber Framers Guild Eastern Conference Nov 2009

The Timber Framers Guild’s 25th Eastern Conference will be held Nov. 5-9 in beautiful, historic Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Read preliminary details about the schedule and presenters, including James Howard Kunstler (author of The Geography of Nowhere and The Long Emergency), Rob Hadden from Australia, architect and author Jack Sobon, Laurie Smith from the UK as well as some of the best presenters from our recent Western Conference at www.tfguild.org/confs/cfeast2009.html

The 25th Silver Anniversary Eastern Conference will be in beautiful and historic Saratoga Springs, New York. The theme for this year's Conference is "A World Built By Hand," and will feature presenters from around the globe and talks and demonstrations on the traditional tools and methods of our craft. Not forgetting to look ahead, we will also have strong tracks on design, engineering, business, as well as how to stay in it during these challenging times.

The next Eastern Conference will take place at the Samoset Resort, in Rockport, Maine, Nov. 6-9, 2008.

The Timber Framers Guild Conference is North America's largest event dedicated to the practice of building historically inspired new construction using environmentally responsible techniques and large timbers for framing, connected with traditional joinery. Drawing several hundred professionals from a variety of disciplines, the TFG Conference is the only arena where architects, engineers, artisans, contractors, designers, building owners, and preservationists gather to learn about the resources, skills and knowledge necessary build timber framed buildings.

The Guild is committed to developing high-quality learning activities in accordance with national criteria for continuing educational credits in a variety of professions, including Learning Units through the American Institute of Architects.

FIRST ADVANCED COURSE IN ROTTWEIL
