import from DCAD for extruding

Post Posted: 08.02.2011 05:35

When importing a 2D curved beam from DCAD (for extrusion), the lines are not all imported into the same plane. The curved lines are in one plane and the other lines are in a parallel plane. I've double-checked that all lines are connected before exporting. Also, the lines import rotated 90 degrees (vertical rather than horizontal). How do I get this to import correctly?

Could you please give us the DCAD drawing?
In which modul do you import the DXF file?

Here is the DCAD drawing. I'm trying to import into DCAM v 9.04.

I currently have no version 9.04 available. So I had to test it with version 10 and it worked without problem. With some tricks I saved the position of version 10 in a way that you can open it with version 9.

Thanks. I can work with this. I wish I could make the import work with the version I have now. Maybe I have to wait for v10?

Thanks for the offer, Jim.
I found if I import into a new, blank project, it works fine. Then I can bring it in to the project via the library or save section/insert.
